Statements by Synthesis Assembly during US Social Forum
Before During and After the 2010 US Social Forum
People's Movement Assembly - A gathering of people to discuss and analyze our conditions, to come up with demands, commitments, and visions for how things could be different. A PMA is a facilitated space to decide and coordinate actions that will bring us closer to those visions.
Before
Communities, movement sectors, and regions will gather, reflect, discuss, and articulate the big issues facing our world as well as explore strategic solutions and alternative practices. Communities make commitments at the Assemblies about how to get to the US Social Forum, what to bring to the US Social Forum, and what to bring back to their communities to move their visions forward.
During
Organizations collaborated to hold Assemblies throughout the five days of the US Social Forum to culminate in a national Peoples Movement Assembly on the last day of the US Social Forum. See the summaries of PMAs presented to the PMA National Assembly.
After
Coordinated actions across the country! The Assembly process offers the opportunity to collectively create action plans and political directions for our movements in the US, our regions, and our local communities.
